Loss of open space and parking for only 19 new Social units!
The figures coming out of the planning application are shocking:
- 25% reduction in open space
- 45% reduction in parking
- 133 market units (who buys family units without parking?)
- a 300m square+ new East End Homes office above a proposed community centre
- over £12million development cost
and what do we get?
- effectively only 19 additional social units (our borough has a waiting list of 23,000!)
- regeneration of the estates internallly (which is surely the responsibility of East End Homes in any event)
- no guarantee of how full development will be funded (there's already a £4 million shortfall), so no guarantee of completion of the scheme
