Victoria Gordon - British Street Resident

An alarming story appeared today on the East London Advertiser web-site about an "incident" that took place yesterday when Eastendhomes called in the police to deal with what appears to be a civil dispute - read story here. Click on "add new comment" to have your say........

Legal comment.....

At the November Mile End Board meeting John Henderson advised that the necessary legal action was being taken regarding a gate.... Well I don't know where that advice was sought but this outrageous performance by Eastendhomes and the treatment of Victoria Gordon needs to be fully investigated.

As George Galloway said this was a “...... civil dispute between an unaccountable housing association and a vulnerable pensioner".

We want you - Eastendhomes to be accountable!

EEH accountable?

That should be our ultimate aim, as at the moment EEH have us completely under their thumbs, if only we could turn back the clock and vote again. Maybe together we can change things?

gates

These gates are a fire hazard as the fire brigade cannot get to a fire unless they are of a cetrtain type I do not want to be burnt alive in my home jsut becuase someone else is being selfish, anyway they make the estate look like a prison. BTW do we elect the police or fire brigade or hospital boards?

Gates

I agree with you about the gates. Also if the landlord provided adequate security there would be no need for gates. Regarding electing, we have a right of public enquiries against the boards you mention, we don't have that right with an RSL.
