What happened to democracy?

We elect our MP's to represent us in Parliament.
We elect our councillors to represent us in local councils.
We DID NOT elect the majority of the East End Homes Board.
We do have a few elected members, but they are the minority.
So what happened to our rights?
Do you realise that "if" EEH decided to erect a huge statue of Martin Young in the middle of your estate costing £1,000000, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING YOU COULD DO TO STOP IT!!
Contact your MP, complain, scream, do anything, YOUR human and civil rights have been broken!

Democracy

EEH was selected not elected, if I select an insurance company to provide a service I would not expect to elect their board so what is the difference?

EEH could not erect a statue of Martin young as suggested as they are closely regulated and monitored by the HCA unlike private landlors and owner/occupiers whoe buyt to let and then cause ahvoc or those people who expect a service but pay nothing toward it.

Democracy

I never said EEH were elected, you are correct, they were selected. I'm sorry but I cannot accept your "insurance company" theory. I can change my insurance company, I can't change my landlord. EEH could erect that statue, the HCA are powerless, why are leaseholders queing to take their cases to LVT? Read what is happening to other EEH estates on this website, have the HCA stepped in to stop blatant irregularities? I totally agree with you about private by-to-let landlords etc, and EEH "could" enforce the lease provisions, so far they havn't.
