Young footballers receive awards from Jim Fitzpatrick MP

Over 150 young soccer players from Tower Hamlets attended an awards ceremony at the Docklands Settlement on Saturday 6 May 2006. Local MP Jim Fitzpatrick was on hand to hand out medals and trophies to the successful teams from the Tower Hamlets Youth League.
The ceremony was presided over by Bernard Cameron who was involved in establishing the Youth League which features teams of youngsters from all over Tower Hamlets. The awards were sponsored by contractors Apollo and local registered social landlord EastendHomes.
Bernard Cameron who is vice chair of EastendHomes said "I am delighted that the Tower Hamlets Youth League has been such a success. I would like to thank all the young players and their families who have been involved and in particular the coaches and other helpers who have provided so much time and support on a voluntary basis to help make this soccer league successful."
Jim Fitzpatrick MP, pictured with the winners, said "Congratulations to all the teams that took part in the youth league this season, the competition was very tough and the winners were of exceptional quality"
