Kerrygold Community Awards 2010

last modified  12/05/2010 16:30 PM

EastendHomes would like to thank the Kerrygold Community Awards for helping with the creation of a new community garden and play space at Windermere House on Eric Street.

The official opening will take place at 12pm on Saturday 15th May 2010. Jim Fitzpatrick MP and local Councillors have all been invited to attend the event.

The new community garden has been designed by residents with the help of artist Helen Sharp.  We believe this is a truly unique space, which all involved can be proud of and enjoy.

The site was previously an empty plot of grass, but from 15th May it will host the UK's first ever "recipe tree", raised flower beds, a "natural" play area with a "tree crown" climbing frame and mini hills for rolling down.  There is a seating area of live growing benches - perfect for a picnic!

Local residents will be able to grow plants and vegetables in raised beds and you can hang recipes from the "recipe tree" and see if you can find a recipe donated by a celebrity chef.

To contribute a recipe go to Facebook.
