AFTER TWO YEARS OF WAITING FOR EEHLA & NOW THE NEWLY FORM BOROUGH WIDE EEHLFA HAVE FINALLY GOT RECOGNITION
On Weds 27th Jan we presented a deputation to a Full Council Meeting . Tim Archer had put forward the original motion call for the council members to support the group for Eastendhomes to recognize us. This was passed by all councillors from all political party’s . This is excellent news
On Thursday 28th Jan . We were invited by Paul Bloss- Chief Excutive of EEH to attended & present our case before a Full Board Meeting. It was hard going but with the vote from the Council on our side we felt the mood had changed.
Since that meeting we have had contact with Paul Bloss & Martin Young , Chairman of EEH board. We ( main interim committee of EEHLFA) are holding on Tuesday 8th Feb our first meeting to set out a working relationship with them.
It’s been hard work, but at last we are getting somewhere. We can move forward and improve the relationship we have with EEH on all five estates.
Christchurch Area Estate Board in Nov 09 held election for new board members. These were appointed in Dec 09. – 3 new ones
DID YOU SEE A BALLOT PAPER? I did not, neither did anyone I have spoken to.
I found out that only 4 block on in our area where balloted!!!. As I have never seen this or any papers since & before EEH became our landlord. I have raise this matter with the board. They had a vote for new committee members, did not ballot all residents. Whether it be one place or ten. all have democratic right to vote? Will keep you updated.
IGLA ( Island Gardens branch) will be a shortly opening a monthly surgery for you to come along too. It will be run by one of your committee members. This has been put to EEH & they think it’s a good idea. Will give you more info once the place, time & date are confirmed
Holland Estate are holding their first EEHLFA launch meeting on 17th Feb. If you would like to attend. Contact me for details
The first Public Meeting of EEHLFA will be held in the next couple of months. This will be your chance to come along, vote for a committee, also on how much the yearly subscription should be. amongst other things.
Our group IGLA have not charge anything up until now. We few have given our time willingly to improve the relationship with EEH for all leaaseholders & now freeholders who have recived their first bills.
Don’t forget if you want to join our committee or help in any way it would be most welcome.
